The Double Cabins Trailhead benefited from a volunteer project spearheaded by the Red Canyon RMEF Chapter. May 2005 and June 2006, volunteers constructed three sets of three corrals at the trailhead. Over three long weekends, the corrals were built using donated materials. Oilfield pipe was cut and welded, which will ensure that the corrals can be used for many years to come.
The May 2005 work weekends
were attended by volunteers
from the Red Canyon, Rawlins
and Big Horn Basin Chapters.
A farewell party for Regional
Director Blake Henning was
held on Saturday. Sunday
morning’s departures were
hampered by about 6 inches
of new snow.
The 2006 work weekend was moved to June to try and avoid the bad weather. Volunteers from the Red Canyon Chapter were treated to campfire entertainment from “The Prickly Pair” western band. Dr. Jim Summers made the arrangements for the music.
Thanks
to the following businesses and individuals
who donated materials, labor and food for the
work weekends:
